    About Pizza Napoletana

Naples is considered the birthplace of modern pizza, the **Pizza Napoletana** is protected EU-wide as a 'Guaranteed Traditional Specialty' (STG). It typically features a soft, elastic dough with a raised, airy crust (cornicione), baked exclusively in a wood-fired oven at around 485 degrees for 60 to 90 seconds. The classics are the Marinara with tomato, garlic, oregano, and olive oil, as well as the Margherita with tomato, buffalo mozzarella (Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP) or Mozzarella STG, basil, and olive oil.
