Kaya is a sweet spread made from coconut cream, eggs, sugar, and pandan leaves, popularized by Hainanese cooks and kopitiams in Singapore. It's enjoyed with Kaya and butter toast, two soft-boiled eggs and Kopi. The Ya Kun chain traces its roots to a coffee stall at Telok Ayer Basin, which Loi Ah Koon registered as his own business in 1944.
