    Bannock

    Bannock

    Flatbread

    About Bannock

A simple bread made from flour, baking powder, fat, and water, baked, pan-fried, or cooked on a stick over a fire. Scottish fur traders brought the recipe, and it became a staple food in many First Nations and Métis communities. Today you can find it in Indigenous restaurants and at Powwows, often with jam or as an "Indian Taco".
