    Sachertorte

Chocolate torte with Marille apricot jam

    About Sachertorte

The Viennese chocolate cake dates back to Franz Sacher, who created it in 1832 as a 16-year-old apprentice chef for Prince Metternich. Underneath the chocolate glaze is apricot jam. The “Original Sacher-Torte” is only available at Hotel Sacher; Demel sells its “Eduard-Sacher-Torte”.
