The standard Chilean empanada is large, oven-baked, and filled with Pino: ground beef, plenty of onions, raisins, a black olive, and a piece of hard-boiled egg. It is eaten year-round, and in particularly large quantities during the Fiestas Patrias in September. Additionally, there are fried variations with cheese or seafood.
