On the site of the former Kockums shipyard, a residential district was developed starting in 2001, which is considered a flagship project for sustainable urban development. The Turning Torso towers over the apartment blocks, and along the Sundspromenaden promenade, wooden walkways and stairs lead directly into the sea. On clear days, you can see the Öresund Bridge and the Danish coast from here.

    Gamla Staden (Malmö)

The Old Town is Malmö's historic core, surrounded by the city canal. Around the large Stortorget with the City Hall and the smaller Lilla Torg, featuring half-timbered and merchant houses dating from the 16th to 19th century, are pedestrian streets, cafés, and restaurants. Sankt Petri kyrka is the oldest structure in the quarter.
    Malmö

    Malmö

Malmö, with approximately 360,000 inhabitants, is Sweden's third-largest city, located on the Öresund, an hour's train ride from Copenhagen. The Old Town around Stortorget and Lilla Torg, the Renaissance castle Malmöhus, and the residential tower Turning Torso in the Västra Hamnen harbor district showcase the city's breadth. Almost a third of its residents were born abroad, which is clearly reflected in its markets, eateries, and restaurants.
    Möllevången

    Möllevången

The former working-class district south of the city centre is today Malmö's multicultural hub. Möllevångstorget hosts a market almost daily, surrounded by vegetable shops, falafel stands, bars, and small restaurants. In the evenings, the district is one of the city's liveliest; to the north, it borders Volkspark Folkets Park.
    Lund

    Lund

Lund is located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Malmö and is one of Sweden's oldest cities. The Romanesque Cathedral from the 12th century and the University, founded in 1666, define the compact old town. With over 40,000 students, Lund is a distinct student city where almost everything can be reached on foot or by bike.

The self-governing Free City on a former barracks site in Christianshavn dates back to 1971. Self-built houses, workshops, concert halls and green ramparts make it one of the city's most unusual districts.
