Borromäische Inseln (Isola Bella, Isola dei Pescatori, Isola Madre)

A visit to Stresa is incomplete without a boat trip to the Borromean Islands. On Isola Bella, you'll admire the baroque Palazzo Borromeo with its magnificent gardens, which descend in terraces to the lake. Isola dei Pescatori beckons with a picturesque fishing village and charming restaurants, while Isola Madre will enchant you with its exotic gardens and Villa Borromeo.

Parco Pallavicino

Just a short walk from the center of Stresa, Parco Pallavicino awaits you, a magnificent combination of botanical garden and wildlife park. Here you can observe deer, llamas, and exotic birds in a natural environment and stroll through beautifully landscaped gardens with old trees, offering fantastic views of the lake.

Monte Mottarone

For spectacular panoramic views over Lake Maggiore and the surrounding Alps, be sure to climb Monte Mottarone. A cable car conveniently takes you from Stresa to the summit, where in good weather, you can see up to seven lakes. Up top there are also hiking trails and, in the winter months, even ski slopes.

Lungolago Stresa (Uferpromenade)

Stresa's elegant lakeside promenade, the town's heart, invites long strolls. Lined by Art Nouveau villas, Grand Hotels, and vibrant flowerbeds, here you enjoy splendid views of the lake and Borromean Islands. Many cafés and gelaterias invite you to linger and observe the busy scene.
