    Wentworth Falls

    Multi-tiered waterfall in nearby Wentworth Falls. Viewpoints are near the car park, with steeper paths leading to lower tiers.

    2National Pass

    Historic walking trail near Wentworth Falls, carved into a rock ledge in the 1900s. It leads beneath the waterfalls and back up via steep stairs. Approximately three to four hours as a loop walk.

    3Prince Henry Cliff walk

    Cliff Walk from Leura to Katoomba with many viewpoints overlooking the Jamison Valley. Starting point at the lower end of Leura Mall at the Cascades.

    4Everglades House & Gardens

    1930s house with terraced gardens by garden designer Paul Sorensen, now operated by the National Trust. In spring, azaleas and rhododendrons bloom, and in autumn, the foliage turns colour.

    Picnic spot on Cliff Drive and starting point for a short path to cascades in a sandstone gully. On to Bridal Veil Falls and the Cliff Trail.

    A Village for GardensLeura is the manicured counterpart to the rougher Katoomba nearby. Leura Mall is lined with plane trees, and behind them, bookstores, galleries, and cafes are nestled. The town originated as a summer retreat for Sydneysiders, and this origin continues to shape it today.Gardens and FestivalsThe cool mountain climate allows for what doesn't grow on the coast: cherry blossoms, rhododendrons, and autumn maples. Everglades House & Gardens is the best-known example, a 1930s house with terraced gardens by Danish garden designer Paul Sorensen, now owned by the National Trust. In October, the Leura Gardens Festival and Village Fair take place, and then the town is bustling.

    Getting ThereLeura is located on the Great Western Highway, two train minutes east of Katoomba and approximately two hours from Sydney Central. The station is at the top end of Leura Mall.Getting AroundExplore the Mall on foot. To the Cascades, Everglades and the Lookouts, it's downhill and back uphill. The Cliff Drive runs along the edge to Katoomba. The Hop-on-hop-off bus stops in Leura; Sublime Point and Mount Hay Road are only accessible by car.
