Marstrand

Marstrand is an idyllic island town on Sweden's west coast, its character shaped by its maritime history and the imposing Carlsten Fortress. You reach the car-free island by a short ferry ride from the mainland, which highlights its unique island character even upon arrival. The Carlsten Fortress, once a prison and defensive structure, dominates the townscape and offers far-reaching views over the archipelago.
