The Costa del Sol, on the Mediterranean coast of Málaga province, is one of Spain's most famous coastal regions, attracting millions of visitors every year thanks to its sunny climate. Marbella on the Costa del Sol blends an Andalusian old town with the glamour of an international resort. In the Casco Antiguo, you'll discover narrow streets, whitewashed houses, and the Plaza de los Naranjos, home to the 1568 Town Hall and Santiago Chapel, the city's oldest place of worship.After World War II, Marbella was a small village of around 900 inhabitants; from the 1950s onwards, the Marbella Club, and later the 1970-opened Puerto Banús marina, made the town internationally renowned. Besides the beaches, highlights include the remains of the Roman villa on the Río Verde, the Museo del Grabado Español Contemporáneo featuring prints by Picasso, Miró, and Dalí, and the Museo Ralli. To explore the city at a relaxed pace, a visit in spring or autumn is recommended.

Estepona has retained much of its Andalusian character: The old town with flower-decorated alleys, the lively harbor and long sandy beaches define this town in the west of the Costa del Sol.

Ronda in Andalusia is situated on a rock plateau that divides the Tajo Gorge of the Guadalevín river into two parts. The Puente Nuevo, completed in 1793, connects the old town La Ciudad with the El Mercadillo quarter, along with the bullring inaugurated in 1785, the 13th and 14th-century Arab baths, and sweeping views of the surrounding countryside.
