Julian Rocks
Julian Rocks, known as Nguthungulli by the local Arakwal Indigenous people, is a **marine sanctuary of international significance** directly off the coast of Byron Bay. This unique spot, where tropical and temperate ocean currents meet, is a biodiversity hotspot and a sacred place for the Indigenous population. Beneath the surface, a fascinating world awaits you: Here, you can observe sea turtles, leopard sharks, rays, and over 100 different fish species in their natural habitat. The volcanic rock formations also provide an impressive backdrop for the colourful coral reefs. Our Tip: The months from May to November often offer the best visibility and pleasant water temperatures for snorkelling and diving excursions.
