    Mullumbimby was a timber, banana, and dairy farming hub. Since the 1970s, alternative lifestylers and artists moved here; organic farms, naturopaths, and artisan crafts now define the town. Main streets Burringbar and Stuart Street feature many historic wooden facades.The Mullumbimby Farmers Market on Friday mornings is among the region's best-known farmers markets.
