    Dining in Main Beach is either on Tedder Avenue or by the water – both more upmarket than further south.

    The district's main street boasts cafés, bistros, and wine bars over a few hundred meters.

    Marina & Fish Market

    Restaurants at the marina overlook the berths, with a seafood focus. An easier option is the fish market for Fish and Chips to go.

    Culture & Identity

    The Polished EdgeMain Beach is the wealthiest section of the northern strip. Instead of a continuous row of towers, individual apartment buildings are found here, with old Norfolk pines lining the waterfront road. The tone is calmer than its noisy neighbour to the south.Water, Not PartiesThe marina on Seaworld Drive is a defining feature: From here, boat tours, fishing charters, and water taxis depart for the Broadwater. Tedder Avenue is modest, offering outdoor tables and a strong regular clientele.

    LocallyMain Beach is on the G:link light rail, with connections to Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Southport and Helensvale, where the train to Brisbane connects. The beach, Tedder Avenue and the Marina are all within walking distance.Further AfieldThe Spit stretches several kilometres north; a bike or car is recommended for reaching the harbour entrance. Buses run to the theme parks. The Gold Coast Airport is approximately 35 kilometres south.

    Relaxed beach town in the south of the Gold Coast with a famous surf wave at the wooded headland. Around James Street are some of the coast's best cafés and restaurants. You'll only see the high-rises of Surfers Paradise from afar.
    Coolangatta

    Coolangatta

    The southernmost point of the Gold Coast, right on the border with New South Wales. Low-rise development, family beaches, and some of Australia's most famous surf breaks, including Snapper Rocks and Kirra.
