    The famous chef's farm shop is located by a pond on the village outskirts. Taste pâtés, verjus, and ice cream, and buy picnic products.

The town's name comes from an Aboriginal language and is often translated as 'meeting place'.Trading Hub in the ValleyNuriootpa grew in the 19th century as a trading and resting place on the road north. Penfolds has long operated a large winery here. Today, the town is home to many businesses that supply the valley.

    Exploring locally

    The centre can be explored on foot. The Barossa Trail cycle path starts here and leads to Tanunda and Angaston. For the wineries around Seppeltsfield and Marananga, you need a car, bike, or a tour. Pre-book taxis for the evening.
