    1IKEA Museum

    The IKEA Museum opened in June 2016 in the building of the first IKEA furniture store from 1958, whose facade was restored according to the original plans. Permanent and temporary exhibitions tell the story of the company and its founder Ingvar Kamprad from its beginnings in Småland to today, featuring products, innovations, and even failures.

    2Linnés Råshult

    North of Älmhult lies Råshult, where Carl von Linné was born on May 23, 1707. The cultural reserve covers around 58 hectares of fields, meadows, and pastures in 18th-century style, along with the Linnéstugan, reconstructed gardens, and old pollarded trees. Four marked trails between 700 m and 4 km lead through the landscape, and a café opens in summer (May to September).

    From Farming Village to IKEA TownÄlmhult was long a rural town in Småland. Ingvar Kamprad, who came from the nearby village of Agunnaryd, founded IKEA in 1943 as a small mail-order business. In 1958, he opened the first furniture store in Älmhult, which profoundly changed the town. The IKEA Museum, located in the restored original building, documents this development.Linnaeus' HomeThe botanist Carl Linnaeus was born on May 23, 1707, in Råshult, north of Älmhult. The cultural reserve preserves the small-scale 18th-century agricultural landscape with meadows, stony fields, and pollarded trees. Råshult is signposted from Road 23.
