De Hoge Veluwe National Park is located in the Veluwe forest area in the province of Gelderland, northwest of Arnhem between Ede and Apeldoorn, covering approximately 54.5 square kilometers. Its history began in 1909 when the couple Anton Kröller and Helene Kröller-Müller purchased the area as a hunting ground. In 1935, the state acquired the couple's art collection, after which the park was opened to the public. The landscape alternates between forest, mainly conifers, heathland and dunes with shifting sands. Red deer, wild boars, and introduced mouflons live in the park. There is an entrance fee to visit.
