Pemuteran, in northwest Bali, is a quiet coastal village and a starting point for diving and snorkeling trips to Menjangan Island in West Bali National Park.
Pemuteran is located in northwest Bali between mountains and a quiet bay. The village became known for the Biorock reef project, where since the late 1990s, corals have been growing on steel structures with a weak electric current. Right off the beach, you can snorkel over these artificial reefs. From the nearby port of Labuhan Lalang, boats depart for Menjangan Island in West-Bali National Park, whose drop-offs are among Bali's best dive and snorkel sites. Pemuteran is small and quiet; accommodations and restaurants are located along the main road.
