Gorges du Verdon

Exploring the Gorges du Verdon requires a different approach to getting around than in urban centers, as metros, subways, and trams simply don't exist here. The primary mode of transport is a private vehicle, ideally a rental car, offering the flexibility to explore spectacular scenic routes like the famous Route des Crêtes and access secluded viewpoints. Public bus connections between the picturesque villages are limited and hardly suitable for a comprehensive exploration of the canyon.For active travelers, bicycles, and especially e-bikes, offer a fantastic way to discover the breathtaking landscape independently; rental stations can be found in the surrounding villages. Hiking enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy on the numerous marked trails; the area off the main roads is very pedestrian-friendly, provided you stick to the marked paths and wear sturdy footwear. Taxis are available but should be booked in advance due to distances and limited availability, while ride-sharing services play hardly any role in this rural region.
