Point de vue
The viewpoint in the Gorges du Verdon offers you an unparalleled insight into one of France's most impressive natural landscapes. From this strategically located vantage point, you overlook the deeply carved gorge, which the Verdon river has carved into the limestone over millions of years. The vibrant turquoise colour of the water, a result of minerals and algae, forms a stark contrast to the steep rock walls, often over 700 metres high. Here, you can grasp the enormous dimensions of the canyon and comprehend the region's geological history. It is a place that powerfully demonstrates the force of nature. Our Tip: Visit the viewpoint early in the morning to enjoy the tranquility and capture the soft light of the rising sun, which particularly highlights the rock formations. This also helps to avoid the largest tourist crowds. For panoramic shots, a wide-angle lens is recommended to capture the entire width of the gorge.
