    Der Krüger-Nationalpark, eines der größten und bekanntesten Wildreservate Südafrikas, bietet ein unvergleichliches Safari-Erlebnis und ist Heimat der „Big Five“. Du kannst hier Elefanten, Löwen, Leoparden, Nashörner und Büffel in ihrer natürlichen Umgebung beobachten, oft entlang der Flüsse Sabie und Olifants. Das Schutzgebiet erstreckt sich über fast 20.000 Quadratkilometer und umfasst verschiedene Ökosysteme von Savanne bis zu Flusswäldern, die eine enorme Artenvielfalt ermöglichen. Gegründet im Jahr 1898 als Wildschutzgebiet, spielt der Park heute eine zentrale Rolle im Naturschutz Südafrikas und im grenzüberschreitenden Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park. Neben geführten Pirschfahrten sind auch Selbstfahrer-Safaris beliebt, die dir Flexibilität bei der Tierbeobachtung bieten. Für optimale Tierbeobachtungen empfiehlt sich die Trockenzeit von Mai bis Oktober, da sich die Tiere dann an Wasserlöchern sammeln.
