The 15th-century brick church stands just behind the old town hall on the market square. The west gallery retains images of Christ and the Apostles from the 1630s, and the organ has also been there since 1841.

Torvet & Altstadt
The market square with the old town hall is the center of the small old town. From here, cobbled lanes and historic merchant houses branch off, including Algade and Nygade with shops and cafés.
Ringkøbing Fjord
The shallow fjord between Ringkøbing and the Holmsland Klit spit is one of Denmark's largest inland waters. From the town's port, you see across the water to the dunes; a cycle path circles the fjord, with sailors and surfers on the water.
Ringkøbing-Skjern Museum
The Regional Museum, on the edge of the Old Town, details the history of the city and West Coast. A focus: the exhibition on British Lancaster bombers flying over the West Coast in WWII, with a 1:1 replica. Not open daily.

Culture & History
Market Town on the FjordRingkøbing has been a trading post since the Middle Ages; goods were shipped via the fjord and its then open connection to the North Sea. When the fjord mouth shifted south due to silting, the port lost its significance. A coherent old townscape with merchant courtyards and the old town hall on the market square has been preserved.The Regional Museum tells the story of the town and the West Coast, including the Second World War along the coast.

Explore the Old Town on foot. Ringkøbing is located on the railway line between Esbjerg and Holstebro, with the station just a few minutes from the market square.Buses run from here to Søndervig and Hvide Sande on the coast. By bike, you can reach the North Sea via Søndervig in about three-quarters of an hour; a cycle path also leads around the fjord.
