Nåttarö, a car-free island in the Stockholm Archipelago, offers a unique way of getting around, heavily influenced by its natural surroundings. Arrival is primarily by ferry from Nynäshamn or Årsta Havsbad; for the journey to these ports, effectively use Stockholm’s public transport system (SL) – subways, buses, and trains – ideally with a charged SL card or the SL app. On the island itself, motorized vehicles are practically non-existent.The best way to explore Nåttarö is on foot or by bicycle, which can often be rented on-site. The island is exceptionally pedestrian-friendly, with numerous hiking trails leading to hidden coves and breathtaking viewpoints. E-scooters or ride-sharing services are not available on Nåttarö, and taxis are also not an option for getting around the island. Therefore, plan your explorations mindfully and enjoy the tranquility.
