Forte de São Clemente (Castelo de Milfontes)
The small fortress at the river mouth was built around 1600 to protect against pirate attacks. It is privately owned and can only be seen from the outside, but from the shore, it's a beautiful photo subject, especially at sunset.
Praia das Furnas
Large beach on the south side of the Mira Estuary, with dunes and rocks. Accessible by car via the bridge; in summer, a small boat also crosses. Quieter than the beaches in town.
Old Town
A small village core with white houses, cafés, and shops around Largo do Rossio and the church. Evenings in summer, the whole village gathers here.

The main beach is located at the mouth of the Mira by the small lighthouse. Wide sand, views of the estuary and the opposite bank. At low and high tide, strong currents form at the mouth; watch for the flags.

Everything in town is walkable. Long-distance buses connect Milfontes with Lisbon and the Algarve; there's no coastal railway. For secluded beaches and villages like Almograve or Zambujeira do Mar, a car or bike is practical, or hike parts of the Rota Vicentina.
