For explorations outside the city walls, especially of the extensive salt marshes and the picturesque coastal region, bicycles and e-bikes are the perfect choice and can be rented at various locations to actively experience nature. E-scooters are less common in the core city but are an option for short distances in the more modern districts.Taxis and private hire vehicles (VTC) are available for journeys to more distant destinations or Nantes Airport, with pre-booking advisable, especially in the evenings or during the low season. For visitors travelling by car, ample parking is conveniently available outside the historic walls.
