Khao Yai ASEAN Heritage Park
The Khao Yai National Park, a designated ASEAN Heritage Park, is a core component of the UNESCO World Heritage site Dong Phayayen-Khao Yai Forest Complex. Here you will find one of Thailand's largest contiguous monsoon forest areas, home to immense biodiversity. Expect dense rainforests, impressive waterfalls like Haew Narok and Haew Suwat, and abundant wildlife, including elephants, gibbons, and hornbills. The park offers numerous well-marked hiking trails that lead you through various ecosystems. Our Tip: Visit the park in the early morning or late afternoon for the best chances of wildlife spotting and to avoid the largest crowds. Make sure to bring sturdy footwear and plenty of water. The dry season from November to February is ideal for hiking.
