The Calle Laurel in the historic center is particularly well-known, where you can experience an authentic tapas culture with countless bars and local specialties.     The single-nave church with stellar vaulting was built in the early 16th century on the Way of St. James. Above the 17th-century portal rides a 1737 figure of Santiago Matamoros, and the main altar holds a 14th-century Gothic Pilgrim St. James.

    Over 65 bars and restaurants line the Old Town lane and its side streets for almost 200 meters. Each bar usually has one or two Pincho specialties; you drink Rioja with them. Locals jokingly call the district 'senda de los elefantes,' the Elephant Path.
