Der Nationalpark El Teide umfasst den Vulkan Teide, mit 3.715 Metern der höchste Berg Spaniens, und die Caldera der Cañadas. Seit 2007 ist er UNESCO-Welterbe. Eine Seilbahn führt bis zur Bergstation La Rambleta auf 3.555 Metern. Für den letzten Wegabschnitt zum Krater (Sendero Telesforo Bravo) brauchst du eine Genehmigung, die du frühzeitig online buchen musst. Seit Januar 2026 wird für die Wege Telesforo Bravo und Montaña Blanca zudem eine Ökoabgabe erhoben, deren Einnahmen in den Schutz des Parks fließen. Founded by Alonso Fernández de Lugo between 1496 and 1497, the city has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1999, a unique example of a colonial city without walls. In the Old Town, you'll find the Cathedral, the Church of La Concepción with its Renaissance tower, and noble palaces like the Palacio de Nava. The Real Santuario del Cristo houses the city's most revered Christ figure.

The hamlet in the Teno Mountains in the northwest of Tenerife is considered the island's most visited mountain village. Well-maintained houses and paved paths lie between steep gorges and slopes; the village is protected as an ethnographic-historical site. The hike through the Masca Gorge is one of the island's most popular; you can find out about access rules and opening times from official sources.

The Anaga Mountains in northeastern Tenerife are a protected Parque Rural and have been a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2015. It extends across parts of Santa Cruz, La Laguna, and Tegueste. Off the north coast, the two rock islets Roques de Anaga rise from the sea, where protected seabirds breed.

The house in La Orotava's Old Town, begun in 1632, is known for its carved wooden balconies and green courtyard. Its three-story facade features a continuous balcony at the top and five individual ones below. Today it houses a center for traditional craftsmanship, particularly openwork, with a shop.

On the west coast, the basalt walls of Los Gigantes fall vertically 300 to over 600 meters into the sea. They belong to the Parque Rural de Teno; the indigenous people called them Hell's Wall. Only a few ravines like Carrizales or Juan López break through the cliffs to the sea.
